Circus splendida ! This year we have to do a CONCERT, which I’m very excited about. The topic of our concert is: CIRCUS SPLENDIDA. Every single class has to do a performance based on a things related to the circus. e.g juggling, hoola hooping etc ... My class 5/6M is doing a performance based on a girl who is an attention seeker thinking everything is just about her and then she suddenly dissapears. We are doing a dance sought of thing but then sought of a play at the same time. Im one of the main characters. I'm the one who has to say a part on my own. We are doing a dance/play about ... 'LOLA THE DISSAPEARING LADY' I'm also the one that put Lola (ALI) into an empty box and then she suddenly dissapears. I feel very thrilled to do this and I can't wait until the concert comes up! Date: 18/8/10 Today, Ali and I had to paint Lola's box for the concert. Ali and I painted the box black and we only started on the first box. We decided to hav to boxes on the stage. One box will be behind the other and we cut behind the first box and cut the fron of the second box the box that is going to be stuck behind the first. We decided to do that so that when we're on the stage Lola gets to have more space to be in the box. We also decided that after we finish painting the two boxes, we'll grab flro pink or yellow or green then we write LOLA or LOLA'S BOX or LOLA THE DISSAPEARING LADY. We decided to it on one of these colours because they stand out because they're really BRIGHT. Hopefully the box will stand out on STAGE!! Date: 25/8/10While we practiced and practiced everyone worked very hard for this to achieve. We were all hoping that our performance would be very interesting that everyone will be imporessed about. On Monday the 6/9/10 we all had a whole school dress rehearsal. Which was when every single one of us had to practice in the hall with all our costumes on. On that day I felt very nervous but I couldn't wait to do it and get it over and done with. Between each of the performances the RINGMASTER (CELESTE) would introduce the next performance on stage. On that day I was a bit fustrated because the box was a bit further in front and when LOLA went off everybody saw her which she didn't really disspear at all, because everyone could see her. However, I still enjoyed doing our performance because everyone was very interested. Date: 8/9/10CIRCUS SPLENDIDA FINALLY ARRIVED YESTERDAY! Yesterday was finally the concert. I was very excited but also very nervous. I loved watching all the other performances because everyone atleast tried and they impressed the audience. When I turned behind at the audience half way through the performances I could see all the parents with big grins on their faces and them enjoying it. My class was after 1/2B and we all had butterflies in our stomach and nerves W hen we started our performance I tried my best at looking at the audience while dancing and singing. When we all finished everyone walked off all sensibly and Miss Mattiacci was very proud of us. The performance were: The circus has come to town- Whole school, Get the top raised- 3/4K, Happy circus song- 1/2/J, Heroes of the circus- 3/4V, We are on the wire- 1/2H, Super scooters- 1/2F, Tiny Tumblers-Prep S and M, Human Sculpture- 5/6T- Hula Hoopers- 1/2B, Lola the dissapearing lady-5/6M, Jugglers song-5/6H, Clowns song- 3/4S. So altogther there were 12 performances. All the parents enjoyed the concert and students/teachers which was amazing.
